Personally, I think that for this competition you should do as much as you can with the entry, and submit even the unfinished piece, maybe it would score higher than you'd expect, and even if not, maybe you would at least get some valuable criticism on what was already done.
My entry for August 11 Second Club competition ([link]). It ended up on the 9th place out of 166 entries, I think.
Amazingly, nobody complained about the clarity of the premise, some people even seemed to be amused by it, so either nobody got the idea, or it is indeed a huge success... ...of , whose suggestions dragged this piece out of the dark abyss of obscurity. Thanks.

i was thinking an old lady in nursing home making a masterpiece out of her food and the guy dismissing it but i thought it wouldn't read right i find 11 second club so difficult to not do the obvious, you did really well though very clear
